Hi I'm Michael

I'm from Washington state. I served a two year mission in Cambodia speaking Vietnamese. I'm an entrepreneur and a humanitarian.

About Me

I am really passionate about having fun, learning and helping people. I've been playing guitar since I was 16. I enjoy outdoor adventures of any kind. I do business internationally.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus Christ once said, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I don't know why I was so lucky but I had parents who gave me a Bible, the Book of Mormon and other sacred texts with the invitation to read them. I had a willing heart and started living the principles in them from a young age and knew they were true. Without going too deep into detail, I also had some intense spiritual experiences that changed my life forever. I came to know a few things with utter certainty: God is very real. And He can wipe out the guilt and misery that overtakes all of us periodically in our lives. We just have to tweak a few things to experience it. To know Him and why He sent us here drives me.

How I live my faith

Since I was a little boy I've developed a strong relationship with God through study and prayer. I've come to know Him as I've lived what He taught me. It's the greatest thing that ever happened to me and influences every aspect of my life. I'm really interested in the question all of us inevitably ask ourselves: 'why are we here on earth?' I've come to believe that we're here to have joy and progress. I've come to find there is a particular set of guidelines we have to follow in order to have true joy. In John 8:31-32 Jesus said, "...If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed...And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." I have found this to be true day after day, year after year. When I'm successful in doing good and avoiding wrong I have an intense amount of joy, peace, love and freedom in my life. On the contrary, I've learned Jesus' lesson above the hard way as well. I've experienced bitter guilt, and pain, and anguish. Having experienced the two ends of the happiness spectrum I choose to follow Jesus Christ and not look back. It's been wonderful.
