Hi I'm Audrei

I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. I'm living my dream of volunteering on a clef palate team in South America. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 27 year old, single woman living the dream! I have an amazing family- 2 parents, 2 brothers, and a niece and nephew. We've each gone through our trials, including my mother having cancer twice, but we've become so close through it all. I now live with an awesome roommate, our two cats, and their pet fish. Because cats need pets too... I have my M.A. in communication sciences and disorders and now work for a school district as a bilingual Speech- language Pathologist. My main occupational goal was to become a volunteer on a clef palate team in South America. I've now traveled to El Salvador twice with an amazing organization!!! I'm currently in love with traveling, dancing (ballet, latin, ballroom), cooking, sewing, reading, exercising, and singing. I have plans for future hobbies - surfing, SCUBA diving, and painting. Some of my lifetime goals include seeing the 7 "new" wonders of the world (Machu Picchu and Chichen Itza, check!), perform in a musical, and learn Bollywood dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me joy. Life is hard sometimes, and my faith is my rock. Time and time again, when rough winds come my way, I get through it and find strength through prayer, studying the scriptures, worshiping at church, and attending the temple. In the storms of life, the Church is my sanctuary, the only place where I can turn to for peace. I have a believing heart, and have had a testimony of Heavenly Father, Christ, and their Church as long as I can remember. I remember making the choice in high school to go to church for me, and not for my parents or for friends. It was a big turning point in my life, and I have never looked back. On my mission, I had several quiet but strong spiritual experiences that testified that there is a God and that He knows and loves me. I know those things to be true as well as I know the sun rises every morning. Every time I've needed comfort and strength, I have felt His love and have been taught what I need to do. It has been one of the small but more important miracles in my life to have that sure understanding of God's love for me.

How I live my faith

In church, I lead a committee over compassionate service for the women of our congregation. Basically, our job is to help the women to feel loved and taken care of. We work closely with the leaders of the women's group to learn the needs of the women, and then organize the service to fulfill those needs. I also have a couple of women I am to specifically look over. In this way, we can take care of each other as we show the love of the Lord through service. As I have been blessed to learn Spanish, I love doing mission trips to South America to help children with disabilities as well as with clef lips and palates. So far, I have been able to serve in Peru and El Salvador. I feel a great connection with the Hispanic people and love working with them and learning about their language and culture.
