Hi I'm Maria and I'm a Mormon

Welcome to my world. I was born overseas in England, my Father served in the U.S.military, so home to me is where ever I am.

About Me

I had been married and sealed in the temple for 26 years, then my world turned upside down. As I have looked back on my life, I realize how much my Savior loves me and has watched over me through it all. I am a mother of two wonderful children, a son and a daughter and now I am a grandmother to a beautiful granddaughter. Because of this change that came about for our family, my children have faced many challenges in their lives. My son, served a full time mission years before the divorce and then was married in the temple years later. His marriage did not make it and because of it has become an angry person. My daughter, may not be active herself, has managed to do alright for herself. I have remained a strong member of this church in spite of challenges that I have faced, this has only helped me to remain faithful to my Heavenly Father. He has promised me if I remain strong, He will be there watching over each of my children for me. I graduated from Penn Foster Career Online College back in March of 2012 as a Medical Transcriptionist, but work full time as a Customer Service Representative for a major company for the past three years. I still enjoy traveling whenever I have the opportunity. I spend most of my time attending the temple fulfilling the ordinance of my family and others. I continue to have a firm testimony and strife to remain positive. Serving others is beneficial to the soul.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church all my life. At times it has been an awesome journey and other times it has been a bit of a challenge. Through it all the gospel has been my iron rod and without it I don't know where I would be today. Being a Latter Day Saint has brought so much joy into my life no matter what life tries to through at me. I cannot but be so eternally grateful to wake up each and every day knowing Heavenly Father loves me so much inspite of my faults, that knowing too I am his daughter and he is forever there with his arms wide open to forgive me. It's a wonderful gift to know we have the freedom to believe in what we choose to believe. I know without a doubt that this is the only true church that is on this earth today. How do I know this to be true? Because I have asked my Heavenly Father directly. It's an overwhelming, warm feeling inside that I cannot deny to know that this church is true and is directly bestowed by our Heavenly Father. I have a profound testimony of his teachings and what he has in store for each of his children in his great eternal plan. There is so much joy in this life, if we but reach out and try to enjoy it for what it is and to try to bless the lifes of others. The gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I can share with you my testimony, but it is up to you to ask yourself by going to the Lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the example of how my Savior lived his life. I don't know no other way but to try and live my life by following in his footsteps. I know that he lives and because of that, I can face the challenges and the joys while I am here on this earth. I do my best in serving others, whether it is through my job or just helping out within the community. I love the many talents that I have been blessed with. It gives me many wonderful opportunities to share them with others. One of which is my sewing skills. I don't make money from my sewing, but the payment that I do receive is the joy that I can bring into someone's life. I love to see the smiles on their faces, that is payment enough for me. I live my life as a member of this church knowing if I honor who I am and what I am as a daughter of my Heavenly Father, he will be there with open arms and say to me "Well done thy good and faithful servant". I want to be able to leave this world knowing that I have done my very best and in the end of my journey here, Heavenly Father is waiting for me with a smile. People often have asked me how do I manage to be happy after all that I have been through, I just say because I love myself inside to know I have a very loving and forgiving Heavenly Father. The world is his canvas, just enjoy the beauty of it.
