Hi I'm Debbie.

I am a wife. I am a mother. I develop educational materials for children. I love life and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My world revolves around my family - they make my life complete. I have such a wonderful husband! As we began our journey together we learned quickly the miracle of birth through the loss of our first son as we approached my fifth month of pregnancy. Since then, we've been blessed with four amazing miracles (three sons and a daughter) who have richly blessed our lives. I love learning! I have especially enjoyed watching the light go on in my children's eyes as they've learned and caught a vision of different concepts. I love nature and the beauties of life and often express my feelings in writing music. I garden and enjoy watching things grow. I love a good laugh and finding joy in little, everyday things. I love people! I believe most people are good and kind. I just love life! It's so precious, isn't it?

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there came a time in my life, like any convert, that I had to find out for myself if it really was true. Around the age of 15 or so, I felt such a need to know ... I remember kneeling and pleading with my Father in Heaven to please let me personally know if this was the Church of Jesus Christ. A feeling of peace and love enveloped me. I knew several things that night. I knew that God was real! I knew He had heard my prayer! I knew He loved me and knew who I was, and I knew I had received an answer to my prayer... the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true! The fullness of the gospel Christ, Himself, had taught had been restored to the earth with prophets, apostles, revelation, the priesthood, temple ordinances, and opportunities to love, serve and represent Him. What a blessing!

How I live my faith

In the church we have many opportunities to serve and work with each other. I've had the privilege of working with the children (3-11) in Primary, the youth (12-18) in Young Women's, and the women in Relief Society in different areas we have lived in. Currently, my husband and I serve together, working with and encouraging the Young Single Adults (18-30) as they experience this great time in their lives. One of my favorite things to do in the church is participate in a program called visiting teaching. This is where the woman are given companions and ladies to visit on a regular (monthly) basis. These visits are designed to form friendships and be a good support system to find out how each other is doing, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I love the gospel discussions we share as we talk about different principles of the gospel and how they have blessed our lives as women, wives and mothers. I love the strength and encouragement I receive from the gospel. It truly feels my soul with joy and gives me faith, hope and strength to meet the daily challenges of life.
