Hi I'm Matt

I'm a songwriter, photographer, student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Oklahoma with three sisters and a brother, and now I'm a student at the local university, studying accounting. My dream is to go to BYU to get my MBA. I'm currently serving as the Sunday School president in the student ward and in the Latter-Day Saint Student Association as the Public Relations officer. I love serving in my ward and community and am so blessed to work with the most wonderful people ever!. I have a lot of different hobbies including soccer, photography, film making, songwriting, and writing stories, and I love learning new things!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family that is LDS, but I have come to have a testimony of my own. In high school I decided that it was important for me to really have a true testimony for myself, to know if the LDS church was true, and if the words in the Book of Mormon were also true. Through fervent prayer I had the whispering of the Holy Ghost testify to me that these things are true. They are truths that the Spirit will testify to you if you are humble and sincere in seeking. I know that Joseph Smith is a true Prophet of God. He did in fact restore our Heavenly Father's church on this earth. I know that the words in the Book of Mormon are inspired and meant for us at this time. I know that our Savior died for our sins, but also for our afflictions. I know these things because the Spirit has testified them to me.

How I live my faith

As part of the Latter-Day Student Association, we organize a lot of activities for the students on campus and in my ward to attend. We live our faith by having good, clean fun, and by attending institute to hear the words that are inspired for us. I live my faith by regularly attending my meetings and living my life in such a way that I might be worthy to hear the promptings of the Spirit. As Sunday School president I have so much love for the ward, and excitement when I see the room fill up with people who are anxious to learn and find joy and peace in the gospel. I love the teachers who are so willing to share the Spirit. I live my faith by regularly going out with the ward missionaries to declare the gospel to the world, because the hope of the gospel is something that everyone needs to hear.
