Hi I'm Kaylee

I'm a student, I'm an artist, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Utah to two, loving parents. I was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I grew to love the mountains, vast open spaces, and the beautiful desert. I love exploring Gods creation through hiking, camping, and horseback riding. I'm a college student and am studying art education with plans to become an art teacher!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, often people believe that merely because you were raised in the church you get an "automatic testimony." This is never the case. I grew up with my parents taking me to church every Sunday and I never really questioned why. It was just what we did. I never grew up and "went off the deep end" or anything like that. I did, however, find myself in places where I was completely dependent on God. There was a point where I could no longer just go with the flow and attend church and not know that what I was doing was right. Over time, with daily, earnest prayer, scripture study (actual study, not just glancing over the pages), and deliberately living the commandments, I found myself standing on a strong and unshakable knowledge that God lives, Joseph Smith was an instrument in His hands to bring forth His gospel in this time, the Book of Mormon is absolutely true and divine, and most importantly that Jesus Christ lived and died for us, that He stands at the head of this church with arms open to receive all who will listen. I love this gospel. Christ set up this church as a tool for each of us to become closer to Him. If I know anything, I know that God loves us, each of us, and knows us personally. He has a personally devised plan for every single one of us, His children, and has His hand in every one of our lives. This plan was meant to have dark and foggy places, but we need not fear, He has a plan and if we lean on Him it will end in happiness.

How I live my faith

I've grown up as a member of this church. As a youth I really enjoyed fulfilling assignments that my leaders asked me to do to help out in the areas that I lived in. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of service. I strive to serve as Christ did. For 18 months I served a mission in Nevada. I dedicated a year and a half of my life to full service to the Lord so that I could help others to know of the pure love that God has for them. Though it was hard and I experienced many trials, I also saw numberless miracles preformed by the Lord and continue to see them daily. I loved every second of my service and plan to continue my service in a different way, now that I am not a full time missionary with a name badge. One of my favorite quotes is "Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is not an effort of once and done, but it is an effort once and for all." Although I'm far from perfect I strive to love as Christ did and walk as He walked; with a desire to serve God and my fellow men and act in a way that would please my Heavenly Father. I plan to give all that I have throughout my life to serve my God and follow His guidance.
