Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon, married for 36+ years. Have 2 sons and five grandchildren. Worked in the Medical Device industry and real estate.

About Me

What is most important to know about me is that I'm a father, a husband, a son, and a brother. Family is the center of my life. We like to snow ski, travel, hike, bike, and kayak. We appreciate our many friends around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because the gospel of Christ outlines the best way to live to maximize happiness for you and for your family. It is the best hope of the nations. Christ's example, teachings, and his atoning sacrifice provide a way for us to be joint heirs with Him in His Father's kingdom. Weak as I am, I work daily to follow His teachings because of the joy it has brought to me. In my long life, I have not found a better way. I am a Mormon because as I follow the teachings of Christ and his followers I receive spiritual acknowledgement through personal revelation of the truthfulness of these teachings. Over time my faith has grown as I've tried to walk the walk. I've learned that there are blessings to be received through obedience to God's commands and teachings. I'm a Mormon because I believe Christ's church is lead by living prophets and apostles. I value their guidance and teachings. They have never lead me astray. In fact, I have found the teachings I receive from the leaders of the church to be of great value to me and to my family. I start each day with a prayer of gratitude to the Lord and thank him in part for this church. I have friends all over the world because I'm a Mormon. Where ever I go there is a welcoming ward or branch for me to attend and fellowship with. As a Mormon I am no longer tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine. There is clarity of life.

How I live my faith

I do my best to serve my family and friends. I work to help my wife, my siblings, my parents, my children and my grandchildren. I try to be of service to other extended family members as well. In the church I have served as a teacher, a missionary, a high councilor, a 2nd councilor in a Bishopric, and as a Bishop. I work each week to help members and non-members to become better followers of Jesus Christ. I participate in the missionary effort. I support select charities and good causes. I teach classes as required. For years I have taught families assigned to me in my calling as a home teacher at least once per month. I counsel with young people in order that they might live happier lives and be more like Christ. I do temple work for the dead. I pay my tithes and offerings to support the growth of the church and to help the needy. There is much joy in service. Service teaches us about love. God is love, so loving service teaches me about Him. I also work politically to ensure that good men are serving in government positions, because I know that when the wicked are in power the people mourn. I am an active writer on an on-line newspaper where I often write in support of what I believe are truths and correct principals.
