Hi I'm Shellee

I'm an avid horse lover. I'm a childcare worker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother who is expecting our second child. I was born in Washington state and our family moved to Colorado and then to Georgia where I have lived for the past eighteen years. I have four siblings and two wonderful parents! I absolutely love horses and horseback riding. I also enjoy reading as well as writing my own stories. I love drawing, painting, and photography as well. I am an artistic kind of person. I also love baking desserts, eating chocolate, and scrapbooking. I also have Scoliosis which makes simple everyday tasks difficult for me. I work in a childcare facility which can be stressful but also very rewarding. I have worked with ages 6 weeks to 4 years. It is always so amazing to watch children discover and learn new things each day. I know this occupation helped prepare me be a mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the truth of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us. I know that He believes in me and the woman I am and the woman I am becoming. Life is difficult and very busy and it is easy to forget who I am and what I'm really supposed to be doing. I know that Heavenly Father knows me by name and that I am one of his many precious daughters. I am not small or insignificant in Heavenly Father's eyes. I know that He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to this world to atone for the sins of all mankind. How GREAT of a love that is! It is incredible to me that Jesus would love me so much to do that for me, let alone everyone who has lived or will ever live! I know that we are meant to learn from the example of Jesus and serve our fellow men and women. I am so thankful for the blessing of prayer that allows me to tell Heavenly Father about my day and to thank him for all that he has given me and to have the opportunity to ask for things I may need. I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon work hand in hand to teach us about Christ and our Father and the way we should act and treat others. I am thankful for the blessing of families. I know Heavenly Father does NOT want us to go through life alone.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the LDS church I have many opportunities to serve. When I was in Young Women's I was a president in a Young Women's class as well as a counselor to other girls. I received my Young Womanhood Recognition award. After I got married I served in Nursery and Primary as a teacher. I have served as a young woman advisor and teacher. I enjoyed watching the girls learn and grow. Sometimes it is easy to think of all the reasons why I can't do something and then I am asked to serve in a position which seems impossible at first but ends up teaching me more then anyone else. Heavenly Father always knows the things we are capable of, even if we don't.
