Hi I'm Kristine

I'm a widow with 7 children, 5 still living at home. I am a business owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a very loving family with 4 siblings. We were all taught to work as smart as we did hard. My fondest memory growing up is family vacations. I am a mom, which is all I ever wanted to be. We have 7 children and 3 grandchildren. I worked outside the home until our 6th child was born in 2001. I retired from the bank and ran the business with my husband that we started in 1988. Those were challenging and trying times. It was actually easier to work outside the home than it was to be a full time mom. I gained a great appreciation for how easy my parents made it seem. My precious husband and best friend passed away in 2009 from Kidney Cancer. He died 10 weeks after we found out. Those were the most amazing 10 weeks. It seemed we were in a bubble filled with calm and peace, even though there was much going on around us that was not calm or peaceful. Our children are amazing and one of our daughters took care of the little ones so I could be by my sweetheart's side the entire 10 weeks. We were surrounded by many helping hands and tender hearts that made things easier for our children during that time. I am grateful for the sweet assurance that this life is not all there is. Family is where it's at!

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and my family. The gospel is that plan in action. Living the gospel helps me do things daily that help me reach my ultimate goal which is to return to my Heavenly Father and be with my family forever. There is incredible peace knowing that the church the Savior lead in His day is lead by Him today through a prophet of God. The prophet speaks to us what the Lord wants us to know and do for our generation.

How I live my faith

My children and I read scriptures as a family each day. It is amazing what a difference it makes in your day. As situations arise, which they always do in life, I am always able to draw on what I just read to help me through the situation at hand. I love volunteering at the school where my younger children attend. I serve as the representative for our school to the school board. My business is able to participate in providing specialized services to the public when assistance is needed. I am a visiting teacher in my ward which means that I get to visit woman in the church each month and develop a friendship with them. As friends, we look out for each other and care about each other. It's a great place to start when I need a helping hand or a listening ear, especially since my husband passed away. I also teach in the woman's organization once a month. I think teaching helps me grow more than it helps those I teach. I am able to study gospel topics and learn from the scriptures how I can improve myself and grow.
