Hi I'm Michelle C. Parker

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. I love teaching and learning and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of six, and a Grandma of four. I love to read and spend time with my family. I spend my days working as a teacher in second grade. On the weekends I try to rejuvinate myself by gardening and spending time with my husband. Some people may think I live a boring life but I feel very fulfilled as I work with children. I feel like I can make a difference in their lives. I believe in people and know that there is always good to be found in everyone.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe in this church because of the peace it brings me. I find the Book of Mormon to be a wondeful companion to the Bible. The Book of Mormon contains the teachings of the people in the American continents. I try to read from the either the Bible or the Book of Mormon each day. This helps me remember that God comes first and that by putting God first I can have the spirit with me to help me throughout the day. I find peace and joy in the knowledge I have that families are forever. I can't imagine not being with my family after this life. I have had a testimony of this since I was a child. I lost my little sister from a brain tumor when I was ten years old. I don't remember that being a scary or even very sad. Somehow my parents helped me understand that she was out of pain happy with our Heavenly Father. I learned and feel strongly today that if I strive to pattern my life after Christ, loving, serving, and striving to do better each day, that I can one day return to live with God and my family again. This brings me peace. I have faith in Heavenly Father's plan for me. It isn't always what I had in mind but it is always what God wants me to learn. When I am struggling through a trial I try to ask myself, "How is this perfect for me?" In doing so I usually see the hand of the Lord showing me something that I need to learn. Although I don't pray for trials, I am grateful for them and what I learn when I turn to the Lord in prayer. He is my Savior, and Redeemer, he is my confidant, and friend. He loves me and I love him.

How I live my faith

My religious beliefs guide the way I live each day. I am trying to live a Christ centered life. This does not mean that I am perfect but that I'm striving each day to do a little better. How I treat others is important. I believe that we are here on earth to learn, grow and become more like Christ. I play a very important roll in my family as try raise my six children and impact my grandchildren for good. As a woman I strive to work in partnership with my husband to maintain and contribute to our family unit. I work in the Relief Society with many other women who try to strengthen our family units. Our focus is our families. We believe that as women we play a central roll in the success of the family unit. We try to build and strengthen those around us as well.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Michelle C. Parker
One of things I believe strongly is that a Mother and Father play vital roles in the lives of their children. I have six children, two girls and four boys. They are all adults now but it took both of us to raise them. Because I work with children each day I am very familiar with children who unfortunately have struggles at home. In my opinion the children who are most successful in school are those who have the love and support from a Mother and a Father at home. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Michelle C. Parker
I believe there is a living prophet today because God love us and he knows that we need someone to lead and guide us just as Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. God knows that the men are weak and need a prophet to direct the affairs here on earth. He continues to send prophets to his people to lead and guide them. This is a gift from God. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Michelle C. Parker
The Mormon lifestyle is one of commitment. A faithful mormon is proactive in their actions, thoughts, and deeds. They understand it's not just attending church on Sunday but striving to implement teachings and find joy through living a gospel centered life daily. Families are an important part of Heavenly Father's plan. We strive to serve and contribute in our communities and to bring joy to ourselves and families. We aren't perfect but we just keep trying to be better. Show more Show less
