Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I love my husband. I'm a middle school history teacher, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very loving family that taught me to rely on the Lord. I love outdoor activities like hiking, skiing and running. I love to travel and experience other countries and cultures. I'm always reading a new book and love going to the movies too. I've been married for a little over a year now and we are excited to start a family soon.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both LDS, and I was raised learning the importance of prayer and reading the scriptures. When I was 12, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself. When I finished, I nervously knelt down by my bed to ask Heavenly Father if it was true. I was raised believing in the Book of Mormon, modern day prophets and personal revelation, but I'll always remember that for an instant, I was worried that I would ask something, and would receive no response. However, I did ask, and then I waited. As I sat in silence, striving to feel my answer, I felt the most wonderful and encompassing feeling of happiness. I started smiling, and just couldn't stop. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true, and thus the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. A few years later, I left home and went to college. The witness that I gained while I was so young remained, but living in a world of doubt left me to continued to try and strengthen my own personal testimony of the Savior as well as study the precepts of the Gospel. When I was 21, I decided to serve a mission for the Church and help others find the joy of the Gospel. I was blessed to serve in Denmark, and loved everyday. As I went out to teach people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I was faced with questions and doubt. Could I really tell people that I knew that the Church was true? That we had modern day prophets and God's authority and priesthood? Again I pled with God to bless me with the conviction I needed to teach other people, and was blessed with it. As I knelt again to receive my answer through prayer, I felt the same sense of happiness. I was filled with a joy I couldn't help but want to share. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is again on the earth. I know we have prophets today, that the Book of Mormon is God's word and Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I know that through sincere prayer, the truth of the Gospel is available to everyone.

How I live my faith

My husband and I enjoy going to church every sunday to be with people that believe the same things we do. WAs part of our church service, we are able to teach young children the simple truths of the Gospel. We both love to sing hymns and join in a community of faith and hope.
