Hi I'm Dotty

I am a wife and mom. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family. We love just talking and laughing together. I have a funny husband and funny kids. Well maybe they're not that funny, but they make me laugh, and I'm grateful. I love writing and receiving letters, attending plays and musicals, going to sporting events, shopping and treasure hunting, swinging and playing in a park with my little ones and going on vacation or out to eat. I clean the temple at night and love my job there. I have met friends from all over the world at my job in the temple and I love hearing their stories. I love going camping, cooking a big meal, planning a party, or going on a road trip as long as it involves spending time with people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and I want to be a part of it. I was taught by my parents, and also learned for myself, that God has a plan for me. I am a Mormon because being one helps me know what that plan is, and gives me direction as to what I should do. Being a Mormon brings happiness and joy into my life and also gives my life purpose. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves each of us and does not forget us ever. I know that we matter to Him just as my children are all important to me. I love Him. I want to serve and follow Him. I want to tell others that being a Mormon, or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is the path that will lead them back to the presence of their Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly as I interact with my family. I love them with my whole heart. I live my faith by teaching my children to make correct choices. I teach them that they are important to God and that he expects much from them. I live my faith by being a good wife, by loving and supporting my husband. I love the temple. I work there but more importantly, I believe in the work that is done there. When I make a promise to the Lord, I keep it, and I know that he will keep His promises to me. I have mostly served in youth organizations at church, Primary and currently in Young Women. I try my very best to help them know the truths that I know. I love spending Sundays and other church activities with them. The youth are an amazing generation with much to offer. Serving them teaches me that God loves all of His children. Being with them is both fun and fulfilling. I live my faith by being willing to do what the Lord wants me to do. I live my faith by asking God in prayer what He wants me to do with my life and then listening in my heart and mind for His answer. I live my faith by trying to be an example of the believers in whatever situation I find myself. I am so grateful for my faith. It is who I am. My favorite Primary song says it all: "I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know who I am. I know God's plan. I'll follow him in faith. I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I'll honor His name. I'll do what is right, I'll follow His light. His truth I will proclaim. "
