Hi I'm Breanne

I am a creativity enthusiast, and lover of learning, languages and travel. I grew up all over rural Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a speech-language pathologist and I love what I do. I love to learn new things and as a result I have a bunch of hobbies! I love to be outside. I like camping, gardening, playing sports, and watching sports. I also love to create. I enjoy painting, drawing, writing, working with wood or metal, decorating for events, and cooking. I also enjoy photography, traveling, and eating good food.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents joined the church in their early 20s so I was raised knowing about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and about the Book of Mormon. When I was a freshman in college I decided I wanted to know for myself if the things I'd been taught were true. I read the Book of Mormon. It was the first time I'd read it cover to cover and the first time I'd read with the intent to know the truth about it. When I prayed about the Book of Mormon there was an undeniable answer that came to my heart and my mind. I knew it was true and have known it ever since. Sometimes I have questions about a lot of things, but I've never felt those questions about the Book of Mormon since I prayed about it. And as I think on those questions, I have gained many answers- even answers that I wasnt anticipating. I know that the Book of Mormon comes from God. Because of that book I know that God is real and that His son Jesus Christ is real. Through the Book of Mormon I've come to know that God loves me and that he has a wonderful plan and purpose for me. I feel God's Spirit when I read that book and I feel like I get better at recognizing the Holy Spirit the more that I read it. It has brought good things into my life.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith has evolved as I have gotten older and learned more about what I believe and discovered what is truth and what isn't. For me living my faith is about loving and serving. I know that Christ is not only the Son of God and my Savior, but I also know he was a real person. I love the Sermon on the mount as it is recorded in the New Testament and the Book of Mormon because he talks about how we need to treat each other. I particpate in church by doing whatever the leaders ask me (I usually get asked to teach Sunday school), visiting sisters, going to choir practice and activities to support those that are in charge of those things, and trying to get to know others so I can know better how I can be a source of goodness in someone else's life.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God, and that he is the "only begotton" son as it says in the Bible. We also believe that he came to earth- Nephi in the Book of Mormon called it the "condescension of God"- meaning that He came down to us, on our level so to speak, from where He was and is. He suffered all things- sins, pains, afflictions, etc. so that he would know how to "succor", or help us, relieve us. Jesus Christ did everything in this life that His Father asked him to do, and everything that He did would have been what his Father would have done. Christ loves us very much and has made all things possible for us. Show more Show less
