Hi I'm Wayne

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I work for the Postal Service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth of five children. My parents were converted a couple of years before I was born. I grew up in the chruch, but there were few members around as I was growing up. I developed a testimony in my youth and decided to serve a mission. I served in Brazil and had the opportunity to share the gospel with many people. I met a special family that was baptized. The only daughter of that special family became my wife two years after I returned home. We have raised three wonderful children, who have served missions in Brazil and Argentina. Although I wasn't able to go to college, I understand the value of education and strive to help my children obtain their diplomas.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught the gospel in my youth and there was no one point that I knew it was true. I have always had a testimony. I have desired to serve the Lord in any way I can. My decision to serve a mission was made early in my life and there was no retreating from it. As I read and taught from the Book of Mormon and the Bible the power of the word touched my heart. As Paul said the word is "quick and powerful" and it has the capacity to change lives. I saw many lives changed and many hearts softened. The life and mission of the Savior is the greatest story ever told. His atonement is the focal point of all humanity. It is the belief in repentance and forgiveness, provided by the Savior, that keeps me following the strait and narrow path. As I stumble, I know He is there to pick me up and dust me off. As John said, we love him because he loved us first. That love knows no bounds. He is always there and He will always be there, forever.

How I live my faith

I know that my friends and acquaintances know that I am a Mormon. I strive to live the Gospel everywhere I go. They know I don't drink or smoke or swear. I enjoy going to church each Sunday and feeling that special spirit. I love to read the scriptures and learn all that I can. As the clerk in my congregation, I have the opportunity to help many people with simple things. It is a pleasure to serve in any way that I can.
