Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in California. Right now I'm studying to become an Optometrist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I recently moved out to the southern part of the United States so that I could begin studying to become an optometrist. I like to get outside to play sports. In my free time I also like to read a good book or play my guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that through Heavenly Father's gospel my family and I can be truly happy. While studying the scriptures one thing that has always stood out to me is how Heavenly Father helps his children and wants them to enjoy the blessings of His gospel. One way that he helps and blesses us is by establishing His church here on Earth and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that church. While growing up I always liked church for the really simple reasons. It gave me time to be with my friends and see a friendly face every week. As I got older there came a time when I needed to know for myself whether or not the things that the church taught really were true. When I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if this church really was His church I know that I got an answer that it was. That simple answer has brought so much happiness and peace to my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by letting others see how happy it has made me. I know that I'm far from being perfect but through the church I have so many reasons to be happy and I do my best to let that happiness show. The church also gives me the opportunity to work with others to share the happiness that I feel. Some Sundays I've been asked to teach a class with my wife about the basics of what we believe. The main audience is new members of the church and people who are visiting and it is a great atmosphere to learn some of the key principles of the gospel. Every Sunday when we teach I feel like I learn from the thoughts that everyone is sharing.
