Hi I'm Ashley

I grew up in Idaho. I'm now married and enjoying life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old and love life! I enjoy outdoor activities such as triathlons, running, biking, camping, and hiking. I love being in the outdoors and taking in God's creations. I also love to read, crochet, sew, paint, adn scrapbook. I have found these activities can be very rewarding as well as relaxing. I am married to a wonderful man who enjoys being outdoorsy as well. We've been married for 2 years. We've both recently graduated from college. My degree is Business Management/Humans Resources and Production/Operations Management. It's a long title that means I like how people and processes work together.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church and the gospel principles. I remember the first time I read the Book of Mormon- the first few chapters came to life. I could see in my mind Nephi and his family traveling through the wilderness. As I continued to read, I struggled through some of the doctrines I couldn't understand. Now that I'm older, it is the doctrine part of the book that I've truly begun to appreciate. The Holy Ghost feels my soul with warmth and peace when I read. I know that the Book of Mormon was written by prophets of old for our day. That the priniciples and doctrines in the pages are true. I still love to read the stories of those great people- the stories still come to life for me. I love the message that families can be together forever. I am so blessed that my husband and I were sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. My dad has had some terrible health issues- and it is through knowing that we are sealed as a family that has given us the hope and faith needed to overcome those moments. I love my family and I know that we wouldn't be as close as we are without the church. I know that I am a daughter of God. That He loves me and understands all that I am going through. I know that it is through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we will someday be able to stand in His presence. That it is through the Atonement that my family can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I love the basic principles of the church. I think that is why I have been called to teach the children. I am not a scriptorian. I love teaching the stories of the scriptures to the children and listening to their own testimonies. They know that God loves them and that they are His children. Each Sunday, my husband and I prepare basic lessons to teach. For some of these children, it is the first time they have heard some of these scripture stories. It is exciting to think that I am playing a part in helping them love the scriptures.
