Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Southern California. I love aquatics and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving as a full time missionary but I just finished a year and a half at college and aspire to go to medical school and be a physician.

Why I am a Mormon

I am lucky to have been born into this church. People might think that anyone who is born a Mormon is just a Mormon because that's what they've been "brainwashed" to think. I mostly disagree. Yes, there are people who never question what they've been taught and just parrot what they've learned in church without fully delving into what it means, but this does not describe me. I'm a Mormon because I have seen and even felt a little what it is like to not follow the teachings of my church, to not be a Mormon. It doesn't bring me happiness to break commandments, being caught or not. I have pondered why I should and do follow certain teachings. Every time I debate within myself why I should or shouldn't follow church teachings, the smart rational answer is this: keeping the commandments will bring me happiness and will set me free. I'm a Mormon because I want to know joy, love, peace, happiness in life. I'm a Mormon because I know that am nothing compared to God, and that the easiest way to access the blessings He so dearly wants to give me is to be in this church. I feel the comforts of His Holy Spirit. I feel peace as Jesus Christ takes my sin from me. I feel strength as the Creator of the Universe personally helps with my insignificant problems. Other faiths, Christian or not, may give me some blessings, but to me it would just be settling for something less. In total, I'm a Mormon not because my parents or my friends want me to, I'm a Mormon because I want to.

How I live my faith

I believe my faith is mostly about just changing yourself and bettering yourself to become more like Jesus Christ. That's what I do: I try to become like Jesus Christ in my daily life.
