Hi I'm Audra Kay

I was born and raised in Arizona and now live in Indiana. I love to draw, paint, sew and read mystery books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of 3 children. Two of my children are moderate to severely autistic. It makes life interesting at times. I love my children and their sweet spirits. I also love to serve others. I have many talents and I use them to help those around me. I love to paint flowers and sketch portraits. I like to give my art away as gifts. I love to garden and have had a garden every year. We love having fresh produce and I enjoy trying to grow new and different things.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life. My Dad however joined the church before he married my Mom. I attended all four years of seminary and several years of institute. I have served in many callings and taught many lessons. I choose to live my life as a daughter of God. I know Christ died for my sins and that he lives again. I love to read the scriptures and have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. Sometimes my trials can be difficult in dealing with the special needs of my children. I cry and get mad but I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and he loves my children. He has given us these challenges to teach us and to help us to become more like him. I have recently been doing my families geneology. I have loved finding ancestors and living relatives too. The temple is a not just a beautiful building but a sacred place for families to be bound together forever. I am thankful for loving parents that raised me in the church and I am thankful to have a loving husband and children that I am blessed to be sealed to forever. Amen.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the church. I love teaching in the nursery. What special spirits these young children are. It's fun to see there eyes light up and watch them learn the primary songs and learn about Jesus. I have loved serving in the Youth program. It is fun to help the youth and to help them find their testimony of our Savior. Being a mother and teaching my children and attending my meetings is how I live my faith. I love to help plan ward activities and to share my talents with others. I try to be a good neighbor and community member by giving to and helping those in need.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Audra Kay
As members of the church when we are baptized we promise to follow God's commandments. One of those commandments is to follow the Word of Wisdom. Our bodies are temples for the spirits our Heavenly Father created. There are things and substances in this world that can do harm to our bodies and also to our spirits. The word of wisdom teaches us not to smoke or drink alcohol or other strong and addictive drinks. We are also told to eat certain foods in moderation and to not over endulge in others. We are physically and spiritually blessed when we keep our Mind, Body, and Spirit healthy. Show more Show less
