Hi I'm Nate

I grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I am studying for a Ph.D in Physics. I have a wife and 5 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born the youngest of four children and raised in the South. I served a mission in Guatemala for two years, and one of the many blessings I received from that time is that I now speak Spanish Currently, I am a graduate student studying for my Ph.D in condensed matter physics. On top of that, I am a father of five children. I thoroughly enjoy being a dad, and probably love playing with my children more than they enjoy playing with me! I have recently started riding a motorcycle as both a past-time and an economical means of transportation. I love riding my bike! I also enjoy snowboarding, although it's not something I can do often due to the cost.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born, my mother was already a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while my father was not. I grew up attending church services my entire life, and always took its veracity for granted. Growing up in the South as an LDS child, was anything but simple. My morals were constantly questioned and put to test by my schoolmates and peers (almost needless to say, I was one of very few members of my faith in the entire school). However, by living the Gospel and abiding by its principles, I found that I was blessed, and that the Lord does indeed care for me. My testimony grew stronger and stronger as I received blessings for my faith and obedience, and eventually I came to the realization that what I had originally taken for granted had found foundation: I knew that the Church is true! I have at times put that faith to the ultimate test by asking the Lord Himself if the Book of Mormon is true, and have received the promised answer through the Holy Spirit. I know assuredly that the Book of Mormon is true, which means that Joseph Smith truly translated it through the power of God, and that God commanded him to form His Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

How I live my faith

There are many ways in which I live my faith. I have served in many different positions in the Church, from playing the organ/piano to teaching classes for adults and young children. I love attending our Sunday meetings! I try to live my faith everyday through the decisions that I make at work and at home.
