Hi I'm Scott.

I'm a husband. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, studying business. I am an avid sports fan, especially football and basketball. I love music. I sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. I am newly married to the most beautiful young lady in the whole world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church. I was Baptized when I was 8 years old. I lived as a younger person under the testimony of my parents. Around the age of 19, when most young Mormon men serve 2 year missions, I was struggling with several tragic events and had many questions. One day, when I was 24 years old, I decided to open up my scriptures for the first time in a long time. I don't remember what verses or what chapter I was reading that day, but I do remember having the distinct impression to kneel down immediately after reading to pray to my Father in Heaven and ask for his guidance as to what direction my life was supposed to take. For the first time in my life up to that point, I distinctly remember an answer to a prayer coming with a physical, tangible feeling of warmth and electricity, followed by a clear and definite answer as to what I should do - serve a mission. On March 4, 2008 I received a packet in the mail that changed the course of my life for eternity; I was hereby called to serve as a missionary in the Washington, Tacoma Mission. Over the course of the next 2 years, I was fortunate to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ than I ever had thought possible. I know and understand the need that we have in our present day for a Prophet of God. Just like in ancient days, Prophets such as Moses, Noah, and Isaiah had communion with our Father in Heaven and were blessed with authority to speak on his behalf and counsel the rest of his children in the ways they should live their lives. After the mortal ministry and crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the death of his Apostles, that authority was taken from the world. In 1820, that authority, and many essential saving doctrines were restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that God lives. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know that God's true church was restored by the Prophet Joseph and that President Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's Prophet on the Earth Today.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Church these days by teaching a Sunday school class to a group of young men. It is a humbling experience to see them gain a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Savior Jesus Christ as we meet together each Sunday. I feel most Sundays like I come away learning much more than the class ever does. I try to follow the teachings of the Savior by loving and serving those around me and striving to keep the commandments of God.
