Hi I'm Marisa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of 3. My kids are 4, 2 and a newborn. We live on one salary so I can stay home with the kids and raise them myself. When I'm not busy with the three kids I enjoy sewing, crafting, exercising, nutrition, cooking, music, reading, and movies. I have a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and when my kids are all in school I will go back to continue my education. I serve in the church with the Young Women, ages 12-17. I love it. I have hard times just like everyone else, but I am blessed by being a faithful member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

My family growing up were all Mormons and I have always loved it. When I was 14 I decided to find out for myself if what I was doing was right and if I was part of the true church. So I knelt in prayer and asked God to know if the Mormon church was the true church. I had a profound experience that night as an answer to my prayer. I refer upon that night often as a reminder of my knowledge of the truthfulness of this church but I also continue to have experiences that confirm that truth. Knowing that the church is true has helped me in every aspect of my life. I know that I am a daughter of God, that Jesus Christ suffered and died for me and that I can live again with my family after this life is over. I can pray to God, my Father in Heaven, and I know that He will answer my prayer, every time. Sometimes I find my answers in the Holy Scriptures, words spoken at church, thoughts that come to my mind, or through the kind acts of others. My membership in the church is such a comfort to me and gives my life meaning and purpose.

How I live my faith

I daily live my faith by keeping the commandments and commitments I have agreed to do. I try to pray with my family daily to help have the Holy Spirit in our home. This has helped us all to be kind to one another and have joy and laughter even when times are hard. I try to be an example to all those I come in contact with on a daily basis. I try to put others first, just as Jesus Christ did. It's not always easy but I can pray to God for help and He gives me strength. I go to church every Sunday and I am uplifted by the words spoken and the lessons taught. I teach the Young Women ages 12-17. I also attend and help plan their activities on Wednesday nights. It is great working with the young women and helping them plan their futures and live the gospel. I can see how the church has brought joy to their lives as well.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Marisa
I personally know that there is a God because He always gives me answers to my prayers. The answer may not always be what I want or given to me how I would expect but He always answers me and I know that he is there and loves me. Show more Show less
