Hi I'm Ben

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I speak Portuguese. I love to play soccer and camp. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized November 12, 1988 when I was 8 years old! I have been a member of the church all my life and was blessed to serve a mission in Brazil. My love for soccer started in Brazil and even though I'm not great I love to play when I get a chance. After coming home from my mission in Brazil I went back and taught English for 16 months. During this time I also married my beautiful wife. We currently live in my home state with our 2 children. I love to camp and I work with computers. I am slowly working toward a degree through online classes.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church I'll admit I didn't always like having to go to church every week. There came a time in my life where I didn't want to just take everyone's word for it that the church was true I really felt a need to know for myself and so I prayed about it and asked God and I received an answer. It wasn't a visit from an angel or the voice of the Lord himself speaking to me, but what I felt I know came from God and over the years as I seek to learn more about Jesus Christ and as I try to follow his example and help others and obey His commandments I have felt that same feeling.

How I live my faith

I have had the privilege of being a youth leader for the past 8 years. This can be a challenging task at times but has been very rewarding as I see them searching to know more for themselves about the Gospel. Along with this church responsibility I get to work with the young men in the Boy Scouts of America and this too is a lot of fun and lots of work. I try to be an example in all that I do at work, at home and even when no one else is around. I heard once that "what you do when no one is looking is who you really are" and I take this to heart.
