Hi I'm Wayne

I'm a retired businessman with a great eternal family, two boys and 3 girls, 21 grandchildren (6 girls and 15 boys). I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 54 years. I am a college graduate with an accounting degree and have worked in the manufacturing sector for over 40 years as a controller or finance administrator. I enjoy being with my family at sporting events and family gatherings. My family is my most important assets. I have served and am now serving a full time mission with my eternal companion of 54 years. Sports have been important in my life and my wife and I enjoy football and basketball at the college level, and we are big Utah Jazz fans.

Why I am a Mormon

My great great grand parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in England and came to America in  the early 1850's. My grandparents and parents where members of the church so as a young boy of 8 years of age I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church. I grew up in the church and have gained my testimony over the years. I have always believed that there is a God in Heaven that he loves me and that he will answer my prayers. I have always believed that Jesus Christ was God,s son, my elder brother and my Savior. I believe that because he loves me he took my sins upon himself, died on the cross, giving me the opportunity to live with God again if I live God's commandments. As a young man I received the Priesthood, which was the authority to act in God's name. I was married in the temple to my sweetheart for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. We now have 5 children, 21 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. I have never wondered if God was really there, I have tested him, talked to him in prayer and received personal revelation for my family and myself. I know that God lives and that he loves us and is only a knee bend away, that his only begotten son Jesus Christ lives and loves us, that his atonement allows me to enter the path to live with God again. I know without any question that Joseph Smith Jr saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ in a grove of trees. I know that Joseph was an instrument in Gods hands and restored His church upon the earth again. I testify that he was a Prophet of God and that the church has a Prophet to lead it today in President Thomas S Monson.

How I live my faith

I currently serve the Lord as a missionary with my spouse in the Nebraska Omaha Mission. It is a humbling experience to be one of God's servants teaching His gospel to his children in Omaha. This is my second opportunity to be called on a mission. My first mission was to the Saint George Mission in Saint George, Utah. We served in the visitors center and the historic sites there. What a great experience it is to tell people about the couragageous pioneers who crossed the plains of the USA to worship God without interference. I have also been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I served in Bishoprics for 15 years and as Bishop for over five years. I love working with the youth and having opportunity to show by example that I love God.
