Hi I'm Alberto

I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley of California. I work as a finance professional in the technology industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as one of seven children in a Mexican-American family. As my father owned a landscape maintenance business, I grew up working many Saturdays and summers in our family business. During my early teenage years, I developed a strong desire to pursue an education and I later had the opportunity to pursue degrees in Economics and Business Administration from various universities within the United States. I've been married to my wife for more than 16 years and we are the parents of four children.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young boy, my father often gathered our family together to share with us his experience with searching for a church and his introduction to the Book of Mormon. In that setting, he shared his powerful witness that as he studied the Book of Mormon he received clear confirmation that the words were true. As a child, my heart was touched by my father's conversion experience and I felt strongly that what my father said was true. As I grew older and had additional opportunities to study the Book of Mormon and to become more familiar with the Church's teachings, I began to develop a greater awareness of the existence of God and of his personal love for me. I also found that my faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened as I came to better understand him and his mission. This faith has helped me to surmount the many challenges that are a normal part of life. It also has helped me to develop a greater appreciation for my many blessings and given me a much stronger sense of purpose.

How I live my faith

In the Church, I am involved with outreach efforts directed toward young single adults. This includes support for classes during the week for college-age young people that focus on the teachings of contemporary leaders of the Church and the application of scriptural lessons to life. I also regularly visit individuals and families to provide counsel, encouragement, and assistance to them as needed. I also work with local Church leaders to support their efforts to reach out to members of the church and to other members of the community to share the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Most importantly, I strive to live my faith in my home by honoring and cherishing my wife and children, by having regular family prayer and scripture study, and by seeking to follow the example of the Savior in my relationships with others.
