Hi I'm Annette

I am a mother. I was born in Utah and have lived in various places in the United States as an adult. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended a couple years of college and then married. We began our family and had seven children. I discovered that I loved being a mom. Our first child left for college and we decided to adopt. We have since adopted 5 children of various nationalities. It has been an unspeakable blessing to have these "bonus babies" join our family. I always wanted to travel and to see the world and come to experience different cultures. This opportunity has come as we have added these precious children to our family. At this time, six of our seven biological children are married and are blessing us with grandchildren. My greatest joy has come in family and in watching them grow and progress in their unique and individual ways. Besides being passionate about being a mother, I enjoy event planning, sewing, cooking, reading, crafting, and just being with people. I have a full and happy life. Not that any life is without challenges and problems....but truly my life has been one of happiness and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and reared in and LDS family. My parents were very active in the church and held many leadership positions during my growing up years. I saw their faithful dedication to the gospel and frequently heard them bear their testimonies. I was in Middle School I began to wonder about the the teachings of the gospel. I was being exposed to other ideas especially evolution and the creation of the world. I wasn't sure that there was a God or that Joseph Smith was a prophet. In a conversation with my father, I expressed my doubts. He taught me from his scriptures, and bore his testimony that the earth came about as recorded in scripture. He explained to me that he felt that the principles of evolution have some merit in order for animals and creatures to adapt to this earth. He then said. "When you look at this world and the thousands of species of animals, and insects, and plants, do you really think all of this could have happened just by chance?" He then encouraged me to pray and study for myself. I spent time doing this. One evening I was walking up the street from babysiting. I looked up into the star filled sky and feeling of profound peace and understanding filled my mind. I knew that this earth and it's seasons, it's beauty and majesty, the heavens, the plants and animals, and all creations were created by a loving God." My testimony of a loving Heavenly Father and Jesus has grown from that moment of personal and clear spiritual insight. My life has been blessed in countless ways from my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has been a source of comfort, and an answer to the challenges I have experienced in life. It's focus on family and the insight in helping provide values for teaching children has been invaluable in helping me love, rear, and teach my children. I am passionate about mothering. It is what I love most in all the world and what I want to do all the days of my life in some capacity.

How I live my faith

I have been privileged to serve in many capacities. I have loved teaching and serving the youth of our church. I have spent time in Nursery and with the children. I have served as a teenage Sunday School teacher and as a leader for teenage girls. I have also spent time with the women of the church. I love people and enjoy being with them. Currently I am teaching a class of 3 year olds. I also visit several women each month and enjoy my time with them.
