Hi I'm Melanie.

I'm a wife, a mother, a grandmother, I love to create things and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the father of our nine beautiful children for nearly 30 years. Our oldest 5 are married to the smartest spouses ever and we now have 10 (soon to be 12) of the most beautiful, smart and interesting grandchildren! We are blessed to have them live nearby and enjoy visits from them almost every day. I am lucky to be a stay at home mom and have homeschooled our children. I love to watch them as they learn and gain experience in useful skills and develop their talents. We have been blessed with the love of music in our home and have enjoyed listening to our children as they have learned to play the piano and other instruments and sing together in harmony. I truly enjoy the art of homemaking and creating beauty. Learning new things makes me happy and feel successful. There are so many wonderful things to do and learn that enrich my life. While newly married and my husband was in school we gained an appreciation for food storage and I learned skills to prepare food and other essentials to store for later need and I have enjoyed sharing these skills and interests with my children. Recently I have been studying natural healing and have been so amazed with the gifts that our Father in Heaven has given us. I also love the outdoors and to travel and see the beauties of this earth and what other cultures contribute to my appreciation of life. I enjoy reading, hiking, and homemaking arts. I love my family and enjoy spending time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in a family that for many generations have been members of the LDS church. I have always known the church is true and that there is a God in Heaven. Even though at times I may have forgotten through my trials momentarily, I know that He knows me and loves me. I continue to feel his love for me, not only as I see his beautiful creations, but through the good people I associate with. He has answered my prayers, not always in the way that I want, but I know that He is in control of my life. I trust in Him and know that I will find true happiness only by living closely to His teachings.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings that have allowed me to serve in the church. I have served many times with the young children in primary classes (usually 3 to 5 year olds) and for several years with the nursery age children. I have enjoyed several opportunities to serve the young women (those ages12-13 years) in different positions at times with my daughters, and have enjoyed serving in cub-scouts in different age groups with each of our three sons. I especially love being with children; watching them grow and learn. I like to help them understand that what they do now they are "practicing to become good at" to prepare them for later in their life. I love the value the Lord places on family and the doctrine of the family He teaches in His church. I believe striving to fulfill my role as a mother to my own children and others of His children can help to further His work of blessing us here on this earth.
