Hi I'm Berne

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three children and I have six grandchildren whom I love and adore. I have beaten the statistics and am still married after thirty three years. I graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) and have lived several places throughout the United states. I am a engineer working to design communication cable for the computer industry. I like fixing things around our house. When people ask what my hobbies are I would like to say hunting and fishing, but unfortunately have not had the time of late to do. I would have to say my biggest hobbies of late are working on my house and serving in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. I have always been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint, and I do not want to go anywhere else. I learned at a very young age that the Book of Mormon is a true record of a people living on the American continent and their dealing with out heavenly father. I love the temples where families can be sealed (married) not only for this life, but forever. I am glad the lord has provided a way that we can be a family forever just like we are a part of his family. This knowledge brings great happiness especially when those we love so much go home to our father in heaven. We know they are gone, but we will see them again. It is a if they have gone on a long trip and it may be awhile, but we will see them again.

How I live my faith

One of the blessing of membership in the church is the opportunity to give service through callings. Because we do not have a paid clergy everyone is expected to serve. I currently serve in an administrative position helping others to accomplish the work better. Through the years I have done many things in the church. I have taught in Sunday school to both adults and youth. I have worked in the youth organization teaching and helping to develop their leadership skills as they plan and carry out activities designed to have fun, give service to others and help to build the community. I have served as the leader of a ward. Each of these opportunities to serve helps me to improve myself, grow closer to those I serve, and grow closer to my heavenly father. I think the reason we do not have a paid clergy, is so that we can receive the blessing of serving in the church and growing closer to our Heavenly Father and others in the church.
