Hi I'm Matt

I'm a nursing student, husband, a father to 2 bunnies and a fish, a blogger, a sports nut and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud husband. I am the youngest of 8 children. I was born and raised in beautiful Colorado and enjoy sports like many others around me. I served a mission in South Africa and Swaziland preaching the gospel, providing service, and lifting others up. I attended BYU-Idaho where I took nursing pre-requisite classes. I am now a nursing student at a community college in Western Washington. I spend free time blogging, fishing, and spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be raised by loving parents and brothers and sisters who have taught me correct principles and I am happy to say I want to be a Mormon. I have chosen to be a member of this church and am very happy I have made that decision. It teaches the gospel that Jesus taught. Of Love, of service, of kindness, of family, of being good. I love clarifying my friends misconceptions of who we are and what we believe as Mormons. I have studied and have prayed to know for myself if this church is indeed a Restored (brought back) church that Jesus himself established 2,000 years ago. I know for myself and have felt through the Holy Spirit that indeed that The Book of Mormon is convincing evidence that the Bible is true, and also that Jesus Christ is the Savior of each and every individual who has ever lived, who now lives and who will yet be born. I know that God speaks to all his children not just Jews in ancient times. He Lives and he Loves us. This is why I am Mormon. I am who I am because of my faith.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by being a loving husband, attending church weekly, providing service, blogging about spiritual and inspirational ways to better ourselves. (the8ways2.com/) In 2008 I was called to Serve as a full time missionary for 2 years in South Africa and Swaziland. I think about and care for the people of South Africa and Swaziland daily and pray that they will be protected and faithful to what they know. Most of all I try to be an example of how Jesus would want me to live.
