Hi I'm Mike

I'm from Texas. I work overseas a lot. I'm a Citizen-Soldier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of two young boys that I can hardly stand to be away from and a husband to the most beautiful woman on earth. I'm honored to serve as an officer in the US Army Reserve. After spending several years living overseas I can honestly say that I live in the best country in the world. I love the freedom we enjoy and the abundant blessings we receive daily. I'm a car guy who loves just about anything with an air-cooled engine, which means I like to spend a lot of time maintaining stuff. My wife likes newer stuff, but if it's old, weird, and hard to find parts for; I'm all in. I love taking my whole family on the motorcycle and side car for evening trips for ice cream. I travel a lot for work and it gets harder every time I have to get on a plane. There is no place I would rather be than at home with one of my boys "helping" me fix a car, or answering "What's that Dad?, or explaining why something works a particular way (even if I have no clue).

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and his restored church. I read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is a testament to Jesus Christ. I know that Christ died for my sins so that I can return to live with my Father in heaven. I know that my church is true. I'm grateful to have the gospel and a modern-day prophet to guide me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example to all those around me. I'm sure I don't always succeed! I also enjoy working with the young men in our congregation when I get the chance. In the past I've been called to serve as a Boy Scout leader and Sunday school teacher; both of which I enjoyed immensely. My greatest calling, when living my faith, is to teach my sons about the gospel and how to behave so that their mother and I are always proud of them. Teaching them that their Heavenly Father loves them and watches over them is a huge responsibility.
