Hi I'm Kaye

I was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, nana, friend and co-worker. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My children and grandchildren are the source of my happiness (usually). I work full time in an office with some great co-workers. The commute in rush hour traffic is my least favorite daily activity (what a waste of time). Sewing, quilting, scrapbookking and card making are the hobbies that I prefer to spend time enjoying, but almost any craft will do. I really like to create something nice for family, friends and neighbors with my own hands. I bottle fruit and jam and bake treats like shortbread tarts, chocolate chunk oatmeal cookies and pies from my canned apple filling. The geneology that I have tried is facinating, but I have a lot more to learn. I am married to a Batman and "Lost in Space" fan/collector. We have a full sized talking replica of the Robot (that he built) in our home.

Why I am a Mormon

My Father in Heaven has blessed me with a wonderful husband and family. I know that families can be together forever. Our elder brother, Jesus Christ, has given me the gospel to show me the plan of salvation. Keeping the commandments is what brings me happiness and breaking them can have the opposite consequence. Father has promised me that true repentance can cause my sins to be remembered no more. I've needed this at least a few times. When I have questions about life here on earth or eternal life, I can search the scriptures for answers and talk to my Father in Heaven in prayer about my conclusions. According to my faith, the Holy Ghost does bare witness to my heart and mind about the truthfullness of these things. Heavenly Father loves me and he knows me and my desires personally. This church gives me many opportunities to serve others. So very many others serve my family constantly in temporal and spiritual needs. Living this gospel brings me peace and happiness and guides me on the path to return to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

My husband and I absolutely LOVE our class of 4 year olds that we teach on Sundays. We experience first hand how Jesus loved little children. Many of the crafts that I enjoy are learned through the womens' organization at our church and I have shared my talents, also. Friendships are some of the greatest blessings that come from visiting and teaching gospel principles in each others homes. Bonds are formed with others who have similar goals and values. Many times over the years we have served our community through the Parks and Recreation Department on Colorado Cares Day. The Meals on Wheels Christmas has been my pet project. We have committed to provide a wrapped gift to go with every meal (1200 +) delivered by the Volunteers of America on Christmas day. At least quarterly we go to the Ronald McDonald House and provide a meal for their guests. A hashbrown, ham and egg casserole has become a favorite for breakfast. This year was my first experience with Newborns in Need. My sewing skills came in handy in making blankets and gowns with love. There is no limit to the opportunites available to love and serve God's children.
