Hi I'm Jennifer

I grew up in South Central Texas in a roman catholic family. Now I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a Roman Catholic family. I felt the spirit as a young child but I knew in my heart that the church was missing something. Now that I am mormon so many things make sense about the gospel, such as where I came from, my identity, etc. I'm no different than anyone else. I love to sew and work on crafts. I exercise often, mainly indoor spinning, but love Zumba too. I am a registered and licensed dietitian and I love to cook. I went to school to receive my Masters of Science in Nutrition and I also have a Bachelors of Science in Biology. I am passionate about helping others and my line of work allows me to educate individuals on reaching wellness and health for themselves and their families. I have been married for 2.5 years and I am a mother of 1 son, who he is the light of my life. I hope for more children in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I found out about the church through a friend from graduate school. I knew something was different about her but I couldn't quite figure it out. At that time, I was not active in any organized-religion church. I began going to activities which lead to attending church. My personal commitment began after a baptism where I felt the spirit so strong that I asked the missionaries to provide discussions of the principles of the church. I am the only member in my family but it has not changed my testimony in this church. Why am I mormon? Simply because I have received witness that this is God's true church, that Joseph Smith was the restorer of God's church, and that Jesus lives and is truly my Savior, Mediator, and Redeemer. I have a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and my faith places me on a path to righteousness. As I live to be obedient to God's commandments I am truly blessed and I see and feel those blessings daily.

How I live my faith

I love to visit teach my assigned sisters in my ward. It is my highlight of my month to get to know and fellowship with my sisters and provide relief to them and their families. It is a opportunity to bring a meal, help with babysitting, or just be an ear during difficult times. All of our callings in church are voluntary and unpaid. I have been relief society compassionate leader, primary worker, and ward missionary. Charity never faileth. I love to serve my fellowmen and it is through service that we become closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The book of Mormon has more reference to Jesus Christ than the Bible itself and the spirit in which you feel is overpowering. We believe that book of mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and does not replace the Bible. Scriptures include the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. All of these writings have been inspired through God. We read scriptures to be influenced by his spirit and to receive insight into choosing the right choices in our life. It is through him that we find true joy and scriptures are the instructions to finding this joy. Show more Show less
