Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 30 years and am the mother of 4 boys. I graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education and taught school for a couple of years until my first son was born. A few years ago, I went back to school and got a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I love school, reading, and playing the piano. I have been a stay at home mom and a piano teacher for the past 24 years. I love plays, concerts, and any musical production!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, but I think every member in this situation can pinpoint the time when they actually became converted. For me, this happened in my early 20's as my husband and I moved away from our families and started life on our own. At the age of 22 I was called to be the Young Women's President in a ward far away from where I grew up. I decided then, that I really needed to know what I believed. I began an earnest search beginning with reading the Book of Mormon. I can honestly say that book, along with a talk given by then-prophet Ezra Taft Benson about The Book of Mormon, changed my life. I came to know, without any doubt, that this Church was true, the Book of Mormon was true, and Joseph Smith truly was and is a prophet of God.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is not complicated at all. For me, it is just a matter of doing a few things consistently. I pray every day, both individually and in our family. I read from the Book of Mormon and the Bible a little bit everyday. I go to church every Sunday and participate there. I look for opportunities to help others whenever I can. I also participate and volunteer in my children's schools. Living my faith is simple and brings me a constant peace in my life.
