Hi I'm Megan

I'm a college student who loves to dance. I am one of twelve children. I love to smile and bring happiness to all. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student getting a degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Literature. I also want to one day train to become a certified ballroom dance teacher. I love to dance! My favorite types are clogging and ballroom but I like learning all different types. I have seven siblings and five step-siblings. I have a wonderful family who I love deeply. I love spending time with my family and friends making happy memories. I love little children, the sweet spirit they have and the way the show love to everyone. I like to smile, laugh, and have fun. I think smiles are an easy gift we can give to everyone that we meet. You never know who needs a smile to lift their spirits and brighten their day. I like to cook and bake and then share it with others. I like getting to know new people and trying new things. I am a curious person so I love to read and learn new things. I love the outdoors especially during the Spring and Fall. I like being active and it is the best when it includes dancing. I love genealogy and learning about my heritage and family. Families are the greatest gift we have been given.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. Growing up I learned about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I learned how I am a daughter of God and that He knows me and loves me. When I was baptized and had received the Holy Ghost at the age of eight I was so happy. I continued to learn and grow in the gospel. I had a testimony that the things I had learned since I was little were true. But, I soon found out that I had never truly found out for myself. When I was seventeen, my parents got divorced. I was shocked, angry, and upset. I never thought that would happen to my family. I became lost and confused. I didn't understand how Heavenly Father could let that happen. I questioned everything I knew about the gospel and life. I was having a very hard time but thought I could handle everything all by myself. I thought that I didn't need the help of other people or Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I still went to church and prayed but my heart wasn't in it. I soon realized that to be able to heal from the divorce and be happy again I needed help. I needed the help of family and friends and especially from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I realized that I did have a testimony and that it had never gone away. The gospel became my main priority. I let Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ help me. They want to help us but They can't unless we let them. It was still very hard coming to terms with the divorce and healing from it. But, with the help of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, family, and friends I started to heal little by little. I learned about and gained a testimony of healing and forgiveness through the atonement of Jesus Christ. The divorce was the hardest thing I've had to go through, but I am thankful for it. I now know with a surety that my Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ live, know me, and love me. I know that the gospel is true. I am so grateful for my testimony and how it blesses my life.

How I live my faith

The simplest answer to how I live my faith is that I strive to live my life every day in a way that follows the teachings of the Savior and brings me closer to Him. I am striving to become like my Savior by following His commandments and His example. I am far from perfect and most of the time fall short but I know that if I try my very best my Heavenly Father and Savior will make up for my shortcomings. I see the help of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ everyday of my life in big and small ways. They love me and are always there for me. I feel so blessed to have the gift of the Holy Ghost. If I live worthily He will be my constant companion to help me, guide me, and comfort me. The peace and joy that comes from feeling the Spirit and seeing my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ help me helps me live worthily because I don't want to be without those feelings. I try to live my faith by doing the small and simple things every day. I try to read my scriptures every day and am trying to not only read but study and ponder. I try to say my prayers morning, night, and during the day. I am trying to not just say my prayers but talk and have a conversation with my Father in Heaven. I try to help others and do service anytime and anyway I can. I try to always show love and kindness towards everyone I meet. I try to only read, watch, and listen to things that allow me to still feel the Spirit. I try to do and say what my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want me to. I also live my faith by serving in the church. I help take care of and teach the children under three during Church in my home ward. I represent the young single adults in my home ward. I plan activities and help make sure everyone is doing well. I am a member of the Institute of Religion Student Council at my college. The institute is a place for college students to come and learn about the gospel during the week. We serve and make sure everyone's needs are taken care of. I love serving in the church!
