Hi I'm James

I'm a Mormon. I am an active adult who loves life and loves to be involved in helping others.

About Me

I am a father of one son and have been married for thirty years to a wonderful wife. I am in the Army Reserves and have been deployed to Iraq three times, Afghanistan once, Haiti and Bosnia. I am an Orthopedic Surgeon and love my job. I love running, skiing, shooting and outdoor activities. My favorite thing to do is to be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the teachings and belief system which the gospel has to offer. My religion gives me a code of ethics and morals to live by. I find that I derive my greatest happiness when I follow the teachings of the Church and obey the commandments. My religion gives me a path to follow which helps me avoid pitfalls and errors which lead to unhappiness. The Gospel has helped me raise my son in a way that has helped him make good choices and also follow the path that will give him success and happiness in his life. The gospel answers the questions of where I came from, why I am here on this earth, and where I will be going after I die. Knowing the answers to these questions gives me great comfort as I live my life and make choices daily.

How I live my faith

I try to live the Gospel on a daily basis by following the Golden Rule, and treating others as I would like to be treated. The Church provides me with many opportunities for service. I work with the youth in my ward and love the chances I have to teach and learn from the young people. I find that the more I give the more I actually receive in return. Life gets to be very hectic and busy and I am very grateful that the Gospel provides a way for me to give of my time and talents to try and serve others. I find the more I try to stay involved the happier I am.
