Hi I'm Jake Bishop

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, I'm a father of 3 kids under 4, I'm an Occupational Therapist...and I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

My story is actually pretty boring when compared to some of the amazing stories featured on this site. I was born into the church, got baptized when I was 8, served a mission when I was 19, and got married soon after. That being said, I would never say that my belief in Christ, this church, or The Book of Mormon is boring. I can honestly say that if I had not learned for myself that these things were true, just "being born into it" would never be enough for me to hang on this long! I have read the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to God about it and about Joseph Smith. I have heard the words of our latter-day prophet. Each and every time I hear these truths I can feel the Holy Spirit telling me that what I hear is true. I can deny many things in this life, but the feelings I know come from God are undeniable.

How I live my faith

As a pediatric Occupational Therapist, I work with kids who have physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. I love teaching them, learning from them, and increasing their quality of life. My wife and I also teach a Sunday School class to an amazing bunch of "typically developing" kids at church. You would think that being around kids all day everyday would drive someone completely nuts...and it kinda does! I wouldn't trade it for anything.
