Hi I'm Alix

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I love to play music, read books, and spend time with my friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live for my music. I have played the violin since I was 3 years old. I have also taught myself flute, piano, and the guitar and I also love to sing. I love spending time with my friends and family. I have a big family, 4 brothers and 1 sister. I always feel that they are always there for me. Another hobby of mine is to make and edit videos, mainly editing. I went to an art school in 9th grade and that is when I first discovered video production and have loved it since. Even though I'm very artsy, I do enjoy some sports. I love to go bowling, it has always been a big family activity throughout my whole life. I enjoy rock climbing, snow-skiing, climbing trees, and many water sports. I'm currently finishing up high school but am applying to go to college in the fall. I hope to one day be a high school choir teacher so that I can share my love of music with others.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has been a blessing in my life and I don't doubt for a second that if it wasn't a part of my life, I would be a whole different person. The scriptures provide counsel and comfort for me when I am having a hard time with something or have a question that needs answering. Through prayer and study, I grow closer to my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, through the Holy Ghost. Many of the commandments we are given help me know what is right and what is wrong so that I can make the correct choices and live my life the best I can so that I may return to my father in Heaven. I have a testimony of the Gospel and Heavenly Father's plan for me. I know that his son, Jesus Christ, died for me so that I may return to live with him one day. I know that they love me and can feel that love as I make righteous choices through the Holy Ghost. I know that we do have prophets on the Earth today who guide and direct us through revelation given to them by God. I believe that the gospel was restored on the Earth through Joseph Smith the Prophet and the Golden Plates. I know that because of the gospel and the Plan of Salvation, I can be with my family in this life and after death in Heaven. I am so thankful for the blessings I have received and the knowledge I have received and continue to receive as I pray daily and follow the commandments of God.

How I live my faith

I'm very active in my single's ward. I have learned throughout my life in the church many standards and values that have helped me live a happy life where I can live the gospel and be close to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. Through my ward I have many service opportunities where I can help in the community and withing the church. I am a ward missionary in my ward and also the ward chorister (I conduct the music during sacrament meeting on Sundays in church).

What is the Book of Mormon?

Alix
The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Christ, that he lives, and that he is God's Son and our brother. It is a record of the early inhabitants of the Americas, descendents of Lehi, who left Jerusalem and lead his family and a small number of people to the Promised Land. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of ancient prophets called by God who are of these people. It contains not only commandments given to them through revelation but also a record of the many great civilizations created by the inhabitants of the Promised Land. These prophets testify of Christ and how after His Resurrection, he appeared to the people in America, taught them and established his church among them. It teaches us of his love for us and of His Atonement. It preaches of Heavenly Father's plan for us, of how, if we live our live accordingly, we can return to live with him in Heaven. The Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible, it shares many of the same teachings and commandments, as they are all part of Heavenly Father's plan for us and also of Christ's unwavering love for each and every one of us. Through the Holy Ghost, if we read The Book of Mormon and sincerely pray about it, we can know of a surety that it is true. Show more Show less
