Hi I'm Matt

I'm a hard working, sleep deprived, father of 4, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Arizona native that enjoys the beauties of this state. I love camping, 4 wheeling, horseback riding, hiking, hunting, and rock climbing even though I don't get to go very often because my wife and 4 kids keep me busy. I work for UPS and take my frustrations out on the occasional game of call of duty. Ha ha. One of my most favorite things to do is sit on the porch with my wife and watch the true Arizona monsoon storms roll into the valley while my kids play in the rain.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. I had wonderful parents that raised me old fashioned and taught me about Jesus Christ and what he did for us. When i was about 17, thinking seriously about going on a mission, i had realized it was time for me to stop believing in the gospel because my parents did and find out the full truth for myself and on my own. I researched the doctrine of the church and read the Book of Mormon. I prayed, and prayed, and prayed. Finally on one Sunday while I was fasting the answer flooded into me. I was filled with joy and cried like a little girl. The Lord had touched my soul and answered my prayers that the church was true. I will never forget that moment or deny it. I love having the comfort of the truth in my life even though the world seems lost. I love how the church is centered around Christ and families. Being a Mormon and living Christ's teaching has brought more joy and blessings to my life than I will ever truly know.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Scoutmaster. I love taking the boys out hiking and camping and showing them how the Lord and His teachings tie into everything around us. We have the wonderful opportunity to do service projects for other and practice our charity. I try to live the "golden rule". I try to remember the story in the Bible of the good Samaritan and help others on my way, even if its just changing a tire. It makes me feel so good. I have learned that the best thing you can do for yourself is to stop worrying and thinking of yourself. If you spend more time thinking and helping others all of your worries and problems will go away and things will fall into place on their own.
