Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in PA. I'm married and have 4 kids. I'm a civil engineer in AZ and still love my Philly sports teams. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a civil engineer, I design plans for the construction of residential subdivisions and commercial sites located in the Phoenix, Arizona area. I am a huge sports fan. In my free time, I enjoy watching my favorite teams on tv and watching movies with my wife. I also like to play word games such as Scrabble. I have lived in CA, WA, PA, UT, Panama, VA, and AZ.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents investigated and joined the Church when they were in their mid 20's. Shortly thereafter, they met, married, and started their family. I am the oldest of their 5 kids. Our family was very active in the Church and we took advantage of the many programs which it offers. I attribute the good person that I have become and the success and happiness that I've achieved throughout my life to the Church's teachings and the hard work and sacrifice made by my parents while raising me. A couple months after graduating from high school, I went off to college some 2,000 miles away from home. I was now on my own for the first time in my life. During this time, I would often reflect on memories of home and my family. I also thought about the Church's teachings. I never doubted that the Church was as I had been taught – the Church that Jesus Christ had established when he lived on the earth. However, I needed to know for myself. I began to read the Book of Mormon and to pray unlike I had ever before. During this first year of college, I had 2 unforgettable experiences. One was an undeniable feeling that God knew me personally and was aware of my righteous desires. Another was receiving an answer to many prayers that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. For me, this answer also meant that the Book of Mormon was a true record and that the Church had the complete gospel teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by not only attending church every Sunday, but trying every day to make right choices and serve others. Families are very important to God. As a husband and father, I try to be a spiritual anchor for my wife and children as we work together in preparing to live as an eternal family with God some day. One of the most important things I do to achieve this goal is listen to and apply the counsel provided by God's living prophet today. As a result, I feel peace in my life amongst all of the turmoil that exists in the world today.
