Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a Montana Girl at heart, I love Economics, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on the end of a dirt road in a small town in Montana. In front of me were cows. In back of me were mountains. My favorite thing was watching thunder storms and sitting outside at sunset. Life was a million possibilities. Since then I left to study Economics at Brigham Young University. I loved it there! I worked as a mentor for teenagers in a drug rehabilitation center and as a guide at a school for men with learning disabilities. A few years later, I was married to an incredible red head and followed him to Texas and now to Kentucky where he is currently studying to be an orthodontist and I am mastering the techniques of diaper changing and proper nutrition. I have two kids (4 and 2) who keep me on my toes. Each day I try to savor life. I love to run, read, think, and learn. Life is still a million possibilities.

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon has given me opportunities to serve in my community and has allowed me to feel Christ's love for me more powerfully than any other thing in my life. It has taught me where to search for answers. My testimony of Jesus Christ is the single-most defining thing in my life. In trying to follow Him, I have felt over and over again a feeling in my heart that He loves me. He is pleased with my efforts. I am on the right path. I believe the Mormon church is true and will continue to follow its principles.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying each day to be better than the day before. I try to read the scriptures every night and pray for help to stay on God's path. I try to be patient with my sons and teach them about our Savior. I have had the unique opportunities to bring meals to the sick, weed a garden for an elderly couple, and play the violin for the Handel's Messiah sing-a-long. Currently, I am an on-call caretaker for children in my community. My goal is to raise two confident and productive boys who know and love their Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a huge task, but I am loving it!
