Hi I'm Charity

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho, in a family of eight. I'm quite a bit younger than my older siblings, so I had a lot of good people to look up to and emulate. Being the youngest also means I get to be an aunt to a pack of cute kids! I play the piano and cello, and I like latin dancing (though I can't claim that I'm good at it). Water sports have been a pretty big deal in my family so I'm a pretty good swimmer and we all water-ski. I'm working on my second semester of college majoring in Humanities and it's great! I've applied for a study abroad which would allow me to visit Italy, England, France, Austria, and Spain. Hopefully I get in! I love my family a lot and I would really like to travel to as many countries as I can!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and so I grew up believing in this church, but there comes a point in your life where you have to decide on your own if you believe the gospel or not. I don't know that I could pin-point exactly the age that I decided I was going to continue to follow Christ, but I do know that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ and that I will spend my life doing my best to follow Him. I have definitely seen the hand of the Lord in my life and I know that He cares for me individually. I know that the times I am happiest in my life are the times when I am following Christ and doing my best to be like Him. I know that when life gets hard we have an opportunity to learn and grow and become more Christ-like through those experiences if we remain faithful. I know that if I am righteous and continue to follow Christ I can be with my family forever. I am a Mormon because I believe in Christ.

How I live my faith

Here at school I attend church with fellow students. On Monday nights we get together in smaller groups of students to have a lesson on a gospel topic and have a fun activity. We begin and end most of our meetings with a group prayer. Sometimes the activities can be service to the community or people who may need help. I also go with one of my roommates to visit girls and get to know them. We are responsible for making sure that they're doing well and for helping them out with whatever they need. I also serve in the women's organization of my congregation as the secretary.
