Hi I'm Adam Hawker

I enjoy writing stories and playing the piano, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

From a young age I've enjoyed art in all shapes and forms. My hobbies include, writing, sketching, singing, playing the piano and editing digital video. I played basketball for West Jordan High School, and am a proud member of the 2009 State Championship team. Later, I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Several of my former teammates, and best friends, also served full-time missions. I'm currently attending Brigham Young University. My hope and dream is to secure a career in either Cinematography or in the field of Psychology after graduation, or graduate school.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was raised in another faith but converted to Mormonism in his twenties. Shortly after his baptism he served a mission in Hong Kong. He met my mother in Rexburg, Idaho. They dated on and off for seven years and finally married in 1990. I was born the following year. Though I was raised in the LDS faith, I did not gain my own testimony until I was 16 years old. I believe that God made His existence known to me on one particular night in April of 2008, while I was reading The Book of Mormon. In addition to gaining a belief that God exists, I came to believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God. This is because one of The Book of Mormon's objectives is to testify of Christ, and to convince those who read it that Jesus of Nazareth is the very foretold Messiah, who has been prophesied to come and save mankind.

How I live my faith

I know that God lives. I believe that Jesus of Nazareth is His son, and the Savior of mankind. I believe that God listens to, and answers, my prayers. There was a time in my life when I wasn't sure that God existed. I have since sought Him out, and as a result He has revealed Himself, and His plan for me. I served a full-time mission in the greater Spokane, Washington area. I demonstrated how I live my faith by volunteering two years of my life to exclusively share the gospel with others, and will continue to offer service in various capacities throughout the remainder of my life.
