Hi I'm Rachel.

I am a nursing student. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Rachel and I am 23 years old. I am the youngest of two. My dad didn't have any boys so he taught my older sister and I how to work on cars, drywall and tile just to name a few things. I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. As a family we spend a lot of time together camping and fishing. We have a huge family camp out every summer in July. It's my favorite part of the year. My dad had a fishing pole in my hand from the time I could stand and balance at the same time and I think it has paid off. I played volleyball and softball throughout Jr High, High School, and part of college. I love making others laugh, I just hope that I am actually funny :). I have wanted to be a Nurse since I was 14 years old. I love helping others. I blame my Mom since she had me doing service projects from a young age. I am currently in a Nursing program from which I graduate in May 2012 and hope to become a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse. Eventually I would love to work for the church in Humanitarian Aid. I have a 5 year old nephew, a 3 year old niece, and 9 month old niece. They are the BEST! I love them so much. My family is the greatest, I don't know what I would do without them. My life is crazy and chaotic but I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church. Many may perceive the fact that I have been a member my whole life as a bad thing. That I haven't experienced "the things of the world". Others believe that I didn't make the choice myself, that my parents made it for me. Both are wrong. Being a member of this church is the best thing about me and I choose to live the teachings of the gospel everyday. No worldly experiences can replace the relationship I have with my Savior. I am Mormon because I know my affiliation with the church, along with my parents guidance has made me who I am today. I know I am far from being a perfect human-being but the gospel helps me progress towards becoming like my Savior Jesus Christ. I am member of this church because I believe it to be true. It brings joy, happiness, and peace into my life in every possible way. I believe that God the Father, the Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate individuals with divine roles and missions. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith and that through Joseph Smith Christ restored the fullness of His Gospel on the Earth. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He is my Brother and my friend. I know that the power of the Atonement is real, that it works, and that it is an individual experience with the Savior. I know that the Plan of Salvation is God's plan of happiness for each of His children. It is designed to bring all the individuals of the world back to our Father's presence. I know that the Book of Mormon is real, that it was translated by Joseph with the help of Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon brings me closer to my Savior every time I read its pages. I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the earth today and that he leads the Church by direct revelation from God. I know that I can and will live with my family for Eternity. When I came to a knowledge of these things I knew I would always be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to be the type of person that others want to be around, and that brings others to Christ. I am not perfect. I make mistakes every single day, but I do my best. I live my faith by following the teachings of the church. I have a calling or job in my area as a "Ward Missionary" where I work with the full-time missionaries to help bring others to a knowledge of Christ and His Gospel. I strive to treat others with respect and love. I live my faith by strengthening my relationship with my family and friends.
