Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a mother, wife and grandma. I love to read and enjoy the beauty of the Northwest. I'm a real estate broker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother to five beautiful children. I recently became a grandmother and absolutely love my new role. I've been what most would consider a "career" woman most of my adult life. I've spent the past 16 years as a real estate broker and love helping people. I am by nature a people person. I love spending time with my friends and family, although there are times when I need my personal space and can generally be found deeply absorbed in a book. I'm an avid reader and have to pace myself. I won't pick up a book unless I know I have the time to finish it because I can become absorbed with it. I've taken up gardening the past few years and enjoy spending time with my son, who also loves to garden. The beauty of nature always captures my eye. I'm a positive person who always looks for the good in others and life. I love teaching others and enjoy constantly learning.

Why I am a Mormon

People have asked me in the past, "Why are you always so happy?" I've thought long and hard about that question and the only reasonable answer I can give them is, "Because I'm a Mormon." By living the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ it brings peace to my soul. I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, however I still had to find out for myself if it was true. I have been through many difficult trials in my life and I know that I would not be where I am today if I did not have the gospel in my life. Knowing the purpose of life puts everything into proper perspective. By living my life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ I am free to experience the joy and happiness life has to offer. Having the Holy Ghost as a constant companion has helped shape and direct my life for good. I have been guided throughout my life as I've studied the scriptures, and sought direction through prayer and fasting. I have received a great deal of personal revelation through the gift of the Holy Ghost. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my Savior lives and that He atoned for my sins. He died so that we all can partake of eternal life. I know that He knows me personally and is aware of my needs. I know that God, the Eternal Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all members of the Godhead. They are each separate beings and yet one in purpose. The Holy Ghost bears witness of the Father and the Son. He bears witness of the truth and touches our hearts so that we can know of a surety the truth when we hear it. He witnesses to us of Christ and can penetrate our souls and fill our hearts with pure knowledge of the truth. I live my life with peace in my heart and a smile on my face because I know where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going after I die. Having this knowledge brings happiness to my life. Knowing that I can attend church anywhere in the world and be taught the same doctrine is like coming home.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of who I am. I live my religion seven days a week, not just on Sunday. I try to live my life according to God's teachings through following the commandments. I don't beat myself up if I make a mistake, but I do pick myself up and get back on track. Christ taught us to forgive others and that also means that we must also forgive ourselves. Sometimes, that is the hardest part. I try to live in a way that I can look myself in the mirror every night and feel good about who I am and what I've done. Currently, I am teaching a strengthening marriage class at church. I love teaching this class. We live in a world where families are being torn apart and marriages are crumbling. I know it can be hard and we all struggle to find the happiness we seek. So many of the couples who take the strengthening marriage class say they love it. They realize that they are not alone and that marriage takes work. We are able to share the tools necessary for improving communication and for resolving conflict within marriages and families. As couples come to understand one another better, marriages are strengthened and the individuals find greater peace and love. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints provides so many opportunities to serve one another. Through our service we are strengthened personally as well. My testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel is constantly strengthened as I reach out and serve others.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Jennifer
We believe that God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost make up the Godhead. The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and is a personage of Spirit. The Holy Ghost testifies of the Father and the Son. As a personage of Spirit He can dwell within us and bear witness of the truth of all things. I know that the Holy Ghost is real and that He can, and does, testify of truth. I have felt Him often throughout my life and He is a constant companion to me. He has testified many times bearing witness of truth to me. Sometimes He testifies to me through soft whisperings of the Spirit. Other times He testifies to me through a deep, warm burning in my heart. Other times I can feel His presence as a warmth envelopes my entire being and knowledge fills my mind. There have been times when He has warned me of danger and provided strong promptings of what I should do. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can speak to us through the promptings of the Holy Ghost. This is most often how communication flows. The Holy Ghost can dwell within us and therefore provide knowledge, peace, comfort, warn Show more Show less
