Hi I'm Sherry

I am the wife of a great man for nearly 59 years. I am also a mom to great kids and grandma to some sweeties. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a home with good parents, but we did not have much religion in our home. I was sent to Sunday School with a neighbor boy, but my parents did not attend church. I knew very little about my Heavenly Father. For some reason, after I had left home for college, my parents decided to become active in a church in their neighborhood. They became friends with a family who were stalwarts in this church. This turned out to be great for me as they introduced me to their son, the man who would become my husband. My husband was in the military after college, and we were married before he was sent overseas. He met some wonderful men while he was overseas and wanted to join their church. I was not happy about that, but told him via letters that I would listen to the teachings of this church when he got home. This I did, and we joined this church--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We have been members now for over 50 years. The Lord works in mysterious ways. We enjoy travel now that we are empty nesters, our children living across the country from us. We enjoy birding and travel to areas of the country where we can enjoy this hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that the Church is true. I love the teachings of the church that tell me that my Heavenly Father knows me personally, even by name. I also love the knowledge that my savior, Jesus Christ loves me, and that his atonement is infinite. I have learned that I can call on the atonement any time I need to feel His love and know that He feels my pain or sorrow along with me. I love the Book of Mormon along with the Holy Bible. I have a testimony that my beloved husband and I are sealed for eternity along with our family. Before we joined the church our marriage was till death parted us. After we were baptized, we attended the Temple and were sealed for "time and all eternity". What a comfort that is. I love family history work. I feel this is a gift that I have been given, as I have had the opportunity to seek out and do the ordinance work for hundreds of my ancestors. I so look forward to meeting them.

How I live my faith

I try every day to do something that will please my Heavenly Father. I am actively engaged in famly history and love this work. I also help others with their research. I cherish my time in the Holy Temple. My husband and I were ordinance workers for ten years. The Spirit is so strong in the Temple.
