Hi I'm Kristi

I'm a mother of five, I was "grown in Oregon and now baked in Arizona" I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work part-time at a local credit union. I love to be outdoors, whether I am walking, hiking, bike riding or playing tennis, just get me outside! Of course I live in Arizona, so occasionally it is a bit too hot to be outside, so the gym will have to do. I love to read, make jewelry, try to be creative and organize. My husband and I have been married almost 25 years. We have five children ranging from 5-23. (We didn't plan it that way, that is just how it turned out). People say that will keep us young, I hope so! :) Mostly I love being with my family. We have a son in the Navy and we are very proud of him, but we don't get to see him as much as we would like. He and his wife have 3 children. We also have a daughter that was recently married. Our family is growing quite quickly. Life can get a bit crazy at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. In my youth, I wondered about other religions and looked at a few of them, but none of them gave me the same feeling. I read the Book of Mormon as a teenager and after praying about it, I received the most beautiful witness from the Holy Ghost that it is true. Every time I read the Book of Mormon my testimony of the Savior grows stronger and stronger. I know that we lived with our Heavenly Father before we came here on earth and that He has a plan for each one of us. I also know that Christ was sent to earth where he gave His life for us and Atoned for our sins. How grateful I am for His sacrifice. I also know that Heavenly Father loves us so much that He would not leave us without direction. So He has given us a Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, on whom will help to lead us back Home to live with God again. The teachings of the LDS Church teach me to love everyone, serve everyone and to do my best every day to please my Father in Heaven and follow the example set by my Savior. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have spent many years helping to teach the young children and youth of the church the importance of following the Savior and His teachings. Currently I am a teacher of the women at my church. I teach a lesson once a month on many important subjects that reinforce the teachings of the gospel. I love serving the women in my area and learning from them. They strengthen my testimony through their examples. It is a hard world we live in, with many influences, and we get to come together every Sunday to learn and support each other. Right now I am also on a committee where we are working together with others in our community to repaint a 6 acre wall at the location of another church in our neighborhood. This is a church that is not of our same religion, but we are striving to be united with our neighbors in service. It should be a fun project!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Kristi
I think we live the same as everyone else does. We try to live with integrity and do our best to make it through each day without any huge mistakes. When we do have bad days, we try again the next day. We focus a lot on our families, cause next to God, that is the most important thing. So we also try to teach our children to follow God's Commandments and make good choices. We work, go to school, go to church, pray, read scriptures, play hard, and at the end of the day come together and thank Heavenly Father for our blessings and ask for His help to do better. We try to find balance in all things (still working on that one personally), and strive for happiness along the way. Show more Show less
