Hi I'm Emily

I love my family, reading and writing. I love animals. I love music. I'm a daughter, sister, and student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family - talking, playing card games, singing, and analysing movies and TV shows. I'm an avid reader, and I am currently studying creative writing. I hope to be a published author someday. I love animals and have 3 pets (a dog and 2 cats).

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so I was raised in this gospel. But I think at some stage everyone raised in the church has to decide whether the church is true, and whether to keep going to meetings. I am still a practising member of this church because I have felt, and I continue to feel, that it is true. I believe we are children of a loving Heavenly Father. I feel His love for me through the power of the Holy Ghost. Some of the things I know most deeply I can't prove, at least not in a scientific sense. I know my family loves me because of how I feel, and I know that Heavenly Father loves me because He has told me again and again, usually in feelings.

How I live my faith

Following the teachings of the church helps me to live with purpose, and inspires me to try and reach my potential. I know that I am a child of God, and everyone is capable of being an influence for good. I pray everyday; this helps bring me closer to my Heavenly Father. I know I am talking to someone who is always ready to listen, and through prayer I can receive comfort and guidance. I attend church meetings on Sundays, and chorister for a part of the services. I attend university to expand my learning (I believe Heavenly Father wants us to learn and improve ourselves). Jesus Christ is my ultimate example and I try to follow Him by being a good person.
