Hi I'm Leigh

I was born in Washington state and grew up in Sacramento and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 8 children and 24 grand children and still married to my beautiful wife for the past 42 years. I have been draftsman and design drafter working in the electric utility field for 32 years. I am a US Coast Guard veteran. I enjoy reading both the scriptures & fantasy books. I really love taking photographs with my Nikon D90. I also enjoy fishing, sometimes playing at golf and chess. I enjoy movies of all types.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of this Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) brings me peace. The Church helps me to understand my life better especially on an Eternal plain. I know where I was before I came to this earth (with our Father In Heaven). I know why I am here (to learn and be tested to see if we will follow Jesus Christ’s teachings). And where I will be going after leaving this earth (if we are obedient and repent of our sins we can return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ). With these troubled times the Church gives me hope for the future no matter how hard these times may become. Without the Church I would probably be depressed with what is happening in this world. For me my testimony of the Church and Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father has developed and grown in my life over a lifetime. Reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible helps me see things more clearly and helps me to understand others. I am so thankful that I can be married to my beautiful wife and have my children with in the hereafter, to be together always and forever. Giving service to others really helps me to forget myself and helps me to put aside the problems that surrounds me.

How I live my faith

I like helping people. I have helped organize social events at church. I have learned through scripture study and experience, plus words from our Prophet and Leaders how to treat others. I do my best to accept others for who they are. My wife and I have held Family Home Evening with our family when they were home. Since they have moved away we have our small Home Evening reading the words of our Prophet and Apostles out of the Ensign. We visit members of our church each month through a program called Home Teaching.
