Hi I'm Brenda

I'm married, have 5 children and two adorable granchildren. I'm a stay-at-home mom and I love it and, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mom, my favorite purpose in life. I love spending time with my family playing games or just hanging out. I love to read and have a book with me all the time. I'm involved in a local literature club so I have been able to read some different kinds of books. I also love to go walking, crochet, and make digital scrapbooks. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education, which has helped me a lot with raising my children. I love being a grandma to my 18 month old grandson. My husband and I love to take cruises and the Caribbean is our favorite location. About three years ago I became dive certified with my husband and we love to go diving together there and also off the coast of Florida. We have lived, as a family, in Japan for two years and loved that experience very much. Our experience in Japan has given us the desire to live and visit other parts of the world. I have been priveledged, so far, to visit China, Hong Kong, and Nederlands. Because I love history, these visits were amazing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but continue to be a Mormon as an adult because I love the Joy that it brings into my life and the lives of my family members. When I was a child and young adult I read the Book of Mormon and went to Sunday School and youth activities. Because of this, I was able to learn for myself that this Church is true. I feel the most peace in my life when I am activiely seeking to obey the commandments. I have had many ups and downs in my life, with jobs, health issues, family matters, etc. and the comfort the Gospel brings to me during all of these situations has been such a blessing to me over the years. I have had experiences that have helped me know that Heavenly Father knows me personally and wants me to be happy now and in the eternities. I have received answers to my prayers and continue to do so. I am so grateful to have a plan for my life and the lives of my children. In this confusing world it is such a relief to know what to teach to my children, to know what's right for them morally and spritually. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that he Atoned for my sins and that I have the opportunity to repent and return to my Heavenly Father because of His sactifice. I am so grateful for that knowledge and the purpose it gives me. I know that we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He receives God's will for us through revelation and if we listen to him it will bring us closer to our goal of Eternal Salvation and the opportunity to return to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having prayer with my children each day. Also, by reading the scriptures to help me with my everyday life. I have spent many years teaching and organizing the young children in their Sunday classes. I have also spent many years teaching the youth and planning wholesome activities for them to attend. I have been able to spend time with the young women at their summer camps many times--teaching, supervising and just showing them love and kindness. I've also been able to plan/organize a youth trek to help the youth learn about the rewards of working together and working hard. I love being involved with the work of the church, especially teaching. I have the opportunity to visit with some sisters in our ward each month, to help them and be their friend so we can learn and grow together.
