Hi I'm Kristie

I'm a super-normal gal; I live in a small house and drive my kids around in a silver van. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live for my family. They are the main event in my life and I got lucky, because they're pretty great. My siblings (I have 1 brother and 4 sisters) and parents live states away from me, but we keep in touch, and I am plenty busy with my four kids and amazing husband, here at home. Most of the time I'm catching up on laundry, but when I'm falling behind on the laundry, it's usually because I'm catching up with a friend, or editing photos, or sitting with my son watching Cars for the millionth time. I like to sing (I get lots of practice making up songs to amuse my kids), sew, take pictures of people, remodel my house, and I simply love to spend time with my husband, ALONE. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by faithful parents. I could not have asked for a better upbringing. I cared about the beliefs and standards of the church as a youth, but I believe it wasn't until I left home that I became truly converted--when no one was around to tell me what was right. I know this church is Jesus Christ's true and living church, because I feel it when I read the Book of Mormon and when I pray about it. I enjoy the blessings that come from staying true to the high standards I believe in. As an adult, I see clearly the difference between my life and the lives of so many people who don't have the motivation and direction that I cherish. I LOVE it!!!

How I live my faith

One of the weird things about me is how much I like to keep the Sabbath day holy. I used to love the excuse in college "oh, I can't study today, it's the sabbath." and I felt completely justified in relaxing the day away. I find it brilliant that setting a day apart, to rest and reflect, is a way of worshiping our Heavenly Father. That, I can do. To me, the commandments and other standards I keep are equally sensible and doable. I like the sense of accomplishment and purpose I feel because I am doing things that are important. It's a beautiful thing to really know what's right, and to do what's right brings me a peace I can't attain in any other way. Right now at church, I'm serving in the primary, which is the organization for the children ages 18mo-12 years. It's BUSY! :) But so fun and rewarding. I love having the opportunity to serve and grow as a person. I am ever-improving through varied church service, and that's a special perk members of this church enjoy.
