Hi I'm Joyce

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Southern California. Having a dad in the Marine Corps, we moved to a new state about every two years. As a child I lived in Nebraska, Maryland, Wisconsin, Virginia and then back to California. I earned a degree in Business Administration from a University in California. After graduation, I worked for a semi conductor company in their Finance Department for 18 years. When my boys were born, I left the corporate world to focus on raising them. Being a mom is the best job ever! My sons are grown now and I help run a business with my husband. I love to read, swim, take walks, camp and be with my family. I love folk music and am teaching myself to play the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I met a girl in Junior High who was Mormon. She told me about her church and I told her about mine. I was Catholic. Over the next six years we would discuss religion together. The things she shared with me about her beliefs sounded familiar and rang true to my heart when I heard them. I prayed about what she told me and received my own personal confirmation that I should be baptized. I was baptized when I was 19 years old. The Church helps me to be a better person, a better mother and a better wife. It teaches me that I am a child of God and that He loves me and wants me to be happy. The church also provides me with a moral foundation on which to build my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying everyday and studying the words of the scriptures. I strive to apply the things I learn from the Savior's life and words by helping others and being kind to people I meet. I try to set a good example of how a Christian woman conducts herself in everyday life. I work with boys in the Boy Scouts of America program. I am part of the advancement committee so I love to see them advance in the program by learning things that will help them now and in their future. Both of my sons earned their Eagle Rank! I also spend a few hours a week helping out at our local Habitat for Humanity Resale Store.
